Interview with Ronny Hemlin of Lack of Faith by Johnny C of www.loudmetal.com

You have a new album out, please tell me a little bit about the album...

-well, it’s an album made for people who like heavy, aggressive yet melodic & catchy music, and its an album to be played LOUD!!

Why did you decide to work with Rivel Records and what can you tell us about this new label?

-We had a couple of offers from different labels (Low Frequency amongst others) and Rivel Records had the best deal to offer us.

Which guys would you consider to be your main influences?

- Lack Of Faith is a band with a wide array of influences such as:

Pantera, Fear Factory, Meshuggah, Yngwie Malmsteen, Europe, Black Sabbath, Black Label Society etc. etc.

How would you describe your music to someone who is not familiar with it?

We’d like to describe our music as “Aggromelodic Metal” combining Melody, Heavyness, and Aggressively Hard driven music.

How did you develop your own style of playing and writing, did you take any lessons?

No Lessons just Years of Practice!

What is the most important, feeling or technique? can you survive with only one of them?.

It’s a combination of technique, feeling and a good cooperation within the band, but the most important one is the feeling.

What kind of equipment are you using live or in the studio?

Everything we can get our hands on  =)

What kind of music do you like the least?

Hip-hop sucks

Disco sucks

Mainstream powermetal bands such as Hammerfall, Stormwind amongst others.

Hard Rock Music with RAP in it is not very nice either.

Do you ever listen to music that is very different from what you do, if so what?

Yes,  Bands such as Sting, Eagles, Rick Wakeman, & Journey are all bands close to our hearts

Are there any plans to tour?

No plans yet, but we wouldn’t want anything more.

What other plans do you have for the near future?

Writing songs for our next album, and do all the stuff that goes with releasing this album, such as doing interviews, shooting videos & Play Live A LOT!

How is the musical climate for hard rock in Sweden?

Heavy clouds and heavy rain most of the time.

What are your feelings about the world we live in and how do you look upon yourself in 15 years from now?

The world we live in….. hmmm it’s a kind of a fucked up one hah? =)

The way we look upon ourselves in 15 years…. Well hopefully we’re playing music, for a living!!!

Rock ´n Roll Damn it!!!
